Louis Vuitton’s Monogram Comedie : Carrousel and Manège

The Speedy Bag which was launched in 1930 still serves as an inspiration for entire collections. In fact the entire leather goods collection for this season were inspired by the timeless Speedy bag. And taking reference to the Speedy’s iconic shape comes this lavish rendition, the Monogram Comédie. It consists of two pieces : Carrousel and Manege.

The Monogram Comédie collection is a glamorous tribute to superb craftsmanship. It combines luxurious leathers such as Ostrich and Alligator with Mink fur and metallic jacquard fabric with the emblematic Monogram pattern to create this joyful mix of colors and textures. The Carrousel in Monogram Comédie has its body made from Monogrammed jacquard textile, with an Alligator Toron handle and clochette. The trims are made from Ostrich as well as its flap which is topped with an Ostrich leather-covered S-lock. The bag comes with a textile and natural cowhide cushion inside.

The Carrousel comes in three colors and is available exclusively at Louis Vuitton stores for US$6000. Monogram Comédie Manège is an exquisite feminine clutch made from metallic jacquard fabric, luxurious ostrich on its trims and flap, Alligator wrist strap trimmed with mink fur. Manège comes in only one color and is available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$3830.
